EU Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker "absolutely content" with Greece bailout deal

The president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker raised eyebrows in Brussels after he said says he's absolutely content with the fragile bailout deal agreed between international lenders and Greece.

His comments came after the Greek government received over 8 billion dollars of bailout money earlier this week.

Russian football supporters' leader expelled from France for second time

French authorities have expelled the controversial leader of Russia's football supporters' union for a second time - after he had previously been sent home last Saturday.
Alexander Shprygin (sh-pree-gin) has been accused of organising at least some of the fan violence that marred Russia's match with England in Marseille.

‘Clean’ Russian Athletes To Appeal Against Rio Olympics Ban

Russia's pole vaulting champion Yelena Isinbayeva has said she will lead what could become a wave of Russian athletes appealing against the ban on Russian participation in the Rio Olympics.

It comes after the International Olympic Committee announced that Russian athletes will be barred from the Games in August - unless they can individually prove they haven't been doping.

Fiat Chrysler to phase out air bag inflators subject to recall

Fiat Crysler will halt the use of an air bag subject to a recall.

The Takata air bag inflator can explode with excessive force and vehicles with the device must be recalled by 2019.

California ends nuclear plants

California's last nuclear power plant will close by 2025 in a deal reached by the state's largest utility, labor and environmental groups.
Arguments about the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant and its proximity to earthquake faults helped fuel the anti-nuclear power movement in the United States.

U.S embassy in Amman condemns attack on Jordan security forces

Unknown attackers detonated a bomb near Syria's border with Jordan.

MURDERED MP'S HUSBAND: 'SHE WAS KILLED FOR HER BELIEFS'

The husband of murdered British MP Jo Cox says he thinks she was killed because of her political views.

Brendan Cox says the Labour MP would now want the public to stand up for her beliefs.

She had campaigned for greater support for refugees, and wanted Britain to stay in the European Union.

The 41 year-old mother of two was shot and stabbed in her constituency last week.

Her husband says the public response has been helpful for his children.

Clinton slams Trump on economy

Colombian government aims to finalize peace deal with Farc

Yellen Predicts Volatility if Britain voted to Leave EU

US Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen is predicting volatility in financial  markets, if Britain  votes to exit the European Union.

America's  central  bank has also issued a report saying that even though  economic vulnerabilities were described as moderate, "Brexit" could pose risks  to financial stability.

ECB president says they're ready for the fall out of the UK referendum

The president of the European Central Bank says they are ready for the fall out of the UK referendum on its membership of the European Union.

Stock markets around the world have rallied after new opinion polls show the campaign to remain an EU member is taking a minor lead.

ECB president Mario Drahgi has expressed his institution's position that he feels the UK remaining a member of the EU is economically beneficial for Europe.

Violent clashes between protestors and the Police have continued into a second day.


Demonstrators have barricaded roads and are burning tires in the South African capital Pretoria.


Unrest started after an announcement was made to replace the mayoral candidate chosen by the ruling African National Congress- the ANC.


The decision to replace the candidate was not immediately made public.


But the ANC is worried about losing the Tshwane municipality seat to the opposition.


This has caused divisions within the governing ANC and the government has called for talks.


South Africa will be holding elections for mayors and local councillors Aug 3.

Trump faces massive cash shortfall in US campaign

Donald Trump is facing a massive shortfall of cash as he prepares to battle Hillary Clinton in this November's US election.


New figures show that she's outstripping his ability to raise money by a factor of nearly 40 to 1.

Russian Olympic hopefuls will need extra tests, says IOC

Any competitor from Russia wishing to take part in the Rio Olympics will need to be individually evaluated and declared eligible by their sport's international federation. Olympic chief Thomas Bach said the special measure is being introduced because of the unsatisfactory state of anti-doping bodies.  The International Olympic Committee held a meeting in Switzerland to rule on Russia's participation in the 2016 Rio Games.  Julia Lyubova reports from Moscow.
