UK MPs TO VOTE ON SYRIA AIR STRIKES ON WEDNESDAY

Britain's House of Commons will vote on air strikes in Syria on Wednesday.

Prime Minister David Cameron believes he has enough support to win a parliamentary vote with a large majority.

It follows a climb-down by the opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who opposes air strikes, but will now allow his MPs a free vote on the issue.

The UK is currently only carrying out military action against the Islamic State in Iraq, and the Prime Minister wants to extend it across the border into Syria.
