OBAMA: WORLD 'UNITED' AFTER PARIS ATTACKS, AS COP21 BEGINS

Climate talks have opened in Paris with dozens of world leaders in attendance.

The goal is to secure a long-term deal to cut global carbon emissions.

In the run-up to the COP21 summit, some developing countries insisted the targets expected to be agreed over the next two weeks could still see catastrophic damage.

Central to discussions is a potential deal to limit global warming to 2C above pre-industrial levels.

Addressing the summit, US President Barack Obama said the presence of around 150 world leaders demonstrated part of the response to the terrorist attacks in Paris which killed 130 people.

Former New Zealand cricketer Chris Cairns has been found not guilty of perjury in an eight-week long trial in London.

The 45 year-old was cleared of all charges, after being accused of lying under oath during a 2012 libel trial, when he said he had never cheated at cricket.

That 2012 trial saw him successfully sue an Indian businessman for accusing him of match-fixing.

But despite being acquitted of perjury and perverting the course of justice, Chris Cairns says huge damage has been done.
