Police raid German Football Federation over tax evasion

Police in Frankfurt have raided the German Football Federation's headquarters on suspicion of tax evasion. 

The organization has been under fire after reports that it may have bought votes to host the World Cup in two thousand six.

European Election Observers Criticize Turkey's Election

European election observers say they have serious concerns over Sunday's parliamentary  election in Turkey.

UK SYRIA AIR STRIKES VOTE 'NOT ABANDONED'

Downing Street is denying reports UK Prime Minister David Cameron has decided not to hold a parliamentary vote on whether to extend air strikes against the Islamic State into Syria.

British media claims Mr Cameron has abandoned plans for a vote because he doubts he can win the support of MPs to widen the UK air campaign from Iraq.

Second plane with bodies of Russian passenger jet crash victims arrived in St.Petersburg

More remains of Saturday's KGL9268 flight passengers recovered at the crash site in Egypt have been delivered to Saint Petersburg. The identification procedure is underway as the authorities and flight safety exerts discuss various possible causes of the crash, saying a bomb explosion can not be ruled out. Daria Bondarchuk reports from Moscow.

Iran 'deactivating centrifuges' as part of nuclear deal


Only when Tehran adheres to the conditions of the Iran nuclear deal will it receive sanctions relief, the message from the US state department on Monday.

The response came amid reports the Islamic republic has begun to take its atomic centrifuges offline in accordance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The nuclear deal, intended to block Iran's path to a nuclear weapon, was agreed between the US, Iran and other nations back in July

Zanzibar's president has term extended after vote cancelled, citing fraud


Zanzibar's President will stay in office until fresh elections can be held on the semi-autonomous Tanzanian Islands, according to a local government statement.

The region's election commission annulled a recent vote citing "gross violations". 

The main opposition group Civic United Front (CUF) had originally claimed victory ahead of the result, but have since called on supporters to remain calm during this latest period of uncertainty in Zanzibar's history.

Putin Calls For ‘Objective Picture’ of Air Crash Tragedy

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that a plane crash that killed 224 people in Egypt's Sinai desert is a great tragedy.

UN Remembers 700+ Journalists Killed In Last Decade

The United Nations reports that more than 700 journalists have been
killed in the line of duty in the last decade. To mark the
International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists on
Monday, Secretary General Ban Ki-moon remembered those journalists who
have been killed in conflict situations, and those deliberately
silenced while attempting to report truth.

Visa set to buy Visa Europe

Visa has announced it's set to buy its former subsidiary Visa Europe
in a deal set to cost up in the region of $23.3 billion.

The two units were separated in 2007 and the world's largest credit
and debit card company now hope this move will help them continue to
