US President Barack Obama says a rejection by Congress of the nuclear deal with Iran would be tantamount to endorsing another war in the Middle East.
In a speech extolling the virtues of diplomacy, the President argued that the deal outlined between Tehran and world powers would prevent Iran from creating a nuclear weapon and allow inspectors unprecedented access to the country's nuclear facilities.
Speaking for nearly an hour, Mr. Obama challenged common criticisms of the deal, and said that a failure to pass the legislation would hurt America's credibility around the world.
