Daughters claim guitar legend BB King was poisoned

The death of blues guitar legend BB King has taken a mysterious turn, with two of his daughters claiming he might have been poisoned.


Tornado causes devastation in Mexico and Texas

Hundreds of homes have been ripped apart and at least 13 people have died in Mexico's Coahuila state following a tornado.

Another 8 are confirmed dead and 12 are missing in the United States. 

President Barack Obama has spoken with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and assured him he could count on help from the federal government as the state recovers from deadly floods.

Beijing Outlines New South China Sea Strategy

A new strategy document published by the Chinese State Council has revealed that Beijing is to focus on boosting its naval reach, and has vowed to switch from air defence to both offence and defence.

China has been increasingly assertive in the region recently, sparking concerns in Washington, as our correspondent there Lorna Shaddick reports.

Half of world will be online by year's end

By the end of 2015, just about half of the world's population will be online - according to a new report from a United Nation's body.

The International Telecommunication Union says some 3.2 billion people will be using the internet by the end of the year - and about 2 billion of those people are located in the developing world.

Amazon Bows to Pressure over EU Taxes

Amazon has started recording its revenues in UK and other EU nations - instead of funnelling it through the low-tax nation of Luxembourg.

US Supreme Court to reconsider one person one vote

First Criminal Libor trial in London

CAMERON PUSHES JUNCKER ON EU REFORM

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has held talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and told him the British people want the EU to change.

Mr Cameron's hosting of discussions at his country residence starts a week of talks with key European leaders over reform of Britain's relationship with the European Union.

The Prime Minister is also due to hold meetings in France, Germany, Denmark, Poland and the Netherlands in the coming days.

He's promised Britain will have an in-out referendum on EU membership by 2017.

Mr Juncker reiterated to Mr Cameron that he wants to find a 'fair deal for the UK'.

And opposition Labour MP Gisela Stuart agrees that a key issue to tackle is the difference between countries that are part of the eurozone, and those that aren't.

Russia holds large unannounced military drill

Russia's air force has started a large military exercise involving 250 aircraft and 12,000 personnel, according to the country's defence ministry.


It comes on the same day as a long planned Nato exercise in the Arctic.

Biden Makes Good Faith Call to Iraq's PM

Washington Post reporter to go on trial in Iran

The espionage trial of an American reporter jailed in Iran is due to get underway on Tuesday.

Greece will continue to repay IMF says government spokesperson

The Greek government intends to continue making repayments to its international creditors for as long as possible according to a senior government spokesperson.
