Cosby reportedly under 'full investigation'

Bill Cosby is reportedly under a full-scale police investigation by Los Angeles Police Department, after a series of women told detectives they were abused by the comedian.


Some of the alleged attacks were inside the statute of limitations meaning he can be prosecuted if enough evidence is found.

Two U.S. states sue neighboring Colorado over legal marijuana

Two U.S. states are suing the state of Colorado over its law allowing any adult to buy and use marijuana.

Nebraska and Oklahoma say the legal pot in neighboring Colorado is unconstitutional under federal law.

US mulls response to cyberattack on Sony Pictures

The U.S. is considering is response to the cyberattack on Sony Pictures, which has embarassed many in Hollywood and contributed to the movie, "The Interview" being pulled from theaters.

U.S. officials are strongly hinting that they suspect North Korea is behind the cyberattack, but so far, the White House has refused to confirm.

US has no problem with Palestine resolution

U.S. Secretary John Kerry has said, Washington has no problem with a resolution being introduced at the United Nations on Palestine, as long as it is thoughtful and helps move the problem forward.

Jordan has submitted a resolution to the U.N. Security Council, calling for a "just, lasting and comprehensive peaceful solution that brings an end to the Israeli occupation since 1967."

Poll: Majority of Russians still support Putin despite economic crisis

A new poll suggests most Russians still support Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite the value of the national currency, the rouble, having dropped dramatically this week.


Around 80% of Russians say they support Mr Putin, following his annual press conference in which he blamed "external factors" for the economic crisis.

Pre-trial hearing in for Boston Marathon bombing suspect

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-kar sar-nie-yev) appeared in U.S. federal court in Boston for a pre-trial hearing ahead of planned January 2015 proceedings on his role in the April 2013 attack at the finish line to the Boston Marathon.

Three people died and 260 were injured - many losing limbs - when two homemade bombs exploded at the end of the famous race. 

The Tsarnaev brothers, the alledged masterminds, then went on a violent cross-town chase.

US judge overturns conviction of executed boy

The youngest person to have been executed in the United States in the 20th century, has had his conviction vacated by a judge in South Carolina.

Supporters of 14-year-old George Stinney, who was black, say his trial in 1944 was tainted by racism and lack of evidence.

Putin blames "external factors" for Russia's economic crisis

Vladimir Putin says "external factors" are to blame for Russia's ongoing economic crisis.

But during his annual end-of-the-year news conference on Thursday, he insisted Russia will be back on its feet by 2017 at the latest.

With the rouble having dropped dramatically this week, Mr Putin criticised the central bank for not acting sooner to stablize the currency, but says the government and central bank are now responding appropriately. 

Overall, our correspondent in Moscow, Jake Rashbass, says Mr Putin has avoided calling the current situation a "crisis".

EU Rules non-EU family members will not require Visa for UK

The European Court of Justice has ruled that the UK cannot stop non-EU family members from entering the country without a travel permit.
