Nigerian president vows to track down Kano bombers

INTRO:  Nigerian authorities have confirmed that at least 102 people lost their lives in the deadly suicide bomb and shooting attack on the largest mosque in Kano in the north of the country. The authorities believe the extremist terrorist group Boko Haram is responsible for the attack, but it has not been confirmed. The attack may be in retaliation to Islamic leaders calling on civilians in Nigeria to resist attacks by the insurgents. There have also been reports of more Boko Haram attacks in northern Nigeria over the weekend. Gary Alfonso reports ...

Verdict expected in German IS trial

'50 IS MILITANTS KILLED' AT KOBANE

Islamic State militants have reportedly suffered heavy losses in the key border town of Kobane, after launching a fresh assault on it.

Minority of HIV positive Americans receiving treatment

December 1st is World AIDS day - and a new report shows that less than one third of Americans suffering from HIV have their disease under control.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says HIV is an epidemic, with over one million people HIV positive in the US alone, and that number increasing by 50,000 people every year.

Shooting spree in Austin, Texas

A shooter in the state of Texas has died after firing more than 100 rounds of ammunition at buildings in the city of Austin.

No other injuries have been reported.

Police speculate it was an "anti-government attack" that may have been motivated by the heated immigration debate in the US.

Mosque bombing kills scores in Northern Nigeria

INTRO:  At least 60 people have been killed and more than 120 injured in a suicide bomb attack on a large mosque in Kano, Northern Nigeria. Trials for 15 minute ebola test to start in Guinea

Europol airport raids for airline credit card fraudsters

European law enforcement agencies have conducted a number of raids on thieves using stolen credit cards to purchase flight tickets.

Russian rouble sinks lower as oil prices plunge following OPEC meeting

Russia's rouble has sunk to new record lows following the decision not to cut oil production at a meeting of OPEC oil-producing countries in Vienna on Thursday.


The decision sent oil prices plunging, with Brent crude hitting its lowest since August 2010, falling below $72 a barrel.


Oil prices have been sinking since the summer.


Russia's finance minister said earlier this week Russia could lose 100 billion dollars from the decline in oil prices.
