The Football Association of Wales has become the first national association to publicly withdraw support for FIFA president Gianni Infantino's re-election, citing failures of governance and leadership.
The move comes after FIFA was forced on Saturday to abandon its controversial Forward Enterprise plan, which would have allowed private investors to buy stakes in major competitions — a proposal UEFA said crossed a line football's governing bodies should never cross.
FIFA's chief operating officer described the scheme as the project of one person, and a senior Infantino adviser resigned over it.
