US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario as "Lake America," the second time he has renamed an international body of water since taking office.
The move comes amid a deepening trade war with Canada, with fifty per cent tariffs on some Canadian imports already in force and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announcing retaliatory measures on billions of dollars of American goods.
Canada's Industry Minister Mélanie Joly has said Ottawa will always call it Lake Ontario.
