Russia's Foreign Ministry has warned it could strike British military targets both inside and outside Ukraine if Kyiv continues to use British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles against Russian territory.
The threat — described as the strongest of its kind from Moscow to a NATO member — came after Russia accused Ukraine of firing Storm Shadow missiles at a shopping centre in Russian-controlled Donetsk on Wednesday, wounding civilians. Reuters says it could not independently verify the claims.
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham condemned what he called Moscow's outrageous threats during a visit to Kyiv, saying Britain's support for Ukraine would not waver.
