Nvidia shares have jumped eight per cent on Wall Street after the chipmaker reported second-quarter revenue of more than 96 billion dollars — more than doubling its sales from a year ago and beating analyst expectations.
The results have lifted the broader market, with the Nasdaq up more than one per cent and the S&P 500 also gaining ground on Thursday.
Nvidia's chief executive Jensen Huang said artificial intelligence had reached what he called its inflection point.
