North Korea has fired a barrage of about ten short-range ballistic missiles from the capital region toward the sea, according to South Korea's military — the third such test by Pyongyang in August alone.
The launches came a day after the North dismissed Washington's decision to scale back joint military exercises with South Korea, a move widely seen as an attempt to restart diplomacy.
Despite the provocation, analysts say the door to negotiations may not yet be closed.
