Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah, offering all possible humanitarian assistance after flash floods in Nepal's Rasuwa district left nearly four hundred travellers missing, including more than a hundred Indian nationals.
At least sixteen people are reported dead after a sudden surge in the Bhote Koshi River swept through parts of northern Nepal on Wednesday, with officials examining whether a glacial lake outburst on the Tibetan side may have triggered the flooding.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has activated emergency helpline numbers for affected Indian nationals.
