India and Japan have signed a maritime security cooperation pact during defence talks in New Delhi between Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Japanese counterpart Shinjiro Koizumi.
The two defence ministers have stressed the importance of a free and open Indo-Pacific, a theme that has defined the broader bilateral relationship in recent years.
