The death toll from the mass border crossing into Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta has risen to at least 72, after five more bodies were recovered along the coastline on Sunday.
Around 60,000 people surged across the Moroccan border last week, though Spanish authorities say the vast majority have now returned to Morocco.
Questions are now being asked about what triggered the sudden mass movement, with some pointing to a coordinated social media campaign.
Stephen Burgen, a freelance writer who reports on Spain for the Guardian, says several countries have been accused of involvement.
