TRUMP DECLARES IRAN CEASEFIRE 'OVER' AT NATO SUMMIT, THREATENS FURTHER STRIKES TONIGHT

US President Donald Trump has declared a tentative ceasefire with Iran is finished and has threatened to launch further military strikes on Wednesday night, in remarks at the NATO summit in Ankara that sent oil prices surging by more than six per cent.

The escalation followed Iranian attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and a US assault on more than eighty Iranian targets, with Tehran retaliating against military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait.

But the US president stopped short of ordering his negotiating team to walk away from the table entirely.

Simon Marks has the story from London.
