US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are set to meet at the NATO summit in Ankara on Wednesday, as the alliance works to convert record defence spending into operational military capability.
European allies have unveiled a fifty-billion-dollar plan for long-range precision missiles, while NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has told member states the alliance cannot defend itself with money alone.
The push for hardware comes as President Trump has again questioned Europe's ability to defend its own continent and renewed his call for the US to take control of Greenland.
