NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has arrived in the Turkish capital Ankara ahead of the 36th NATO Summit, which opens on Tuesday with leaders from all 32 allied nations gathering at the Beştepe Presidential Complex.
The two-day summit is expected to focus on defence investment, support for Ukraine, and progress towards a target for all members to spend five per cent of GDP on defence by 2035.
The White House has confirmed that US President Donald Trump will hold bilateral talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the summit on Wednesday.
