Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left New Delhi on Monday for a six-day tour of Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, with defence ties and strategic cooperation across the Indo-Pacific at the top of the agenda.
Indonesia is the first stop, where Modi is expected to hold talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday covering defence, trade and energy security.
Analysts say countering China's growing influence in the region is a thread running through all three visits.
