US SENATE PASSES WAR POWERS RESOLUTION ON IRAN FOR FIRST TIME IN BOTH CHAMBERS AS WHITE HOUSE DISMISSES VOTE

The United States Senate has voted to approve a war powers resolution directing US President Donald Trump to withdraw American forces from the conflict with Iran — the first time such a measure has passed both chambers of Congress.

The White House has dismissed the vote as having no legal significance, but four Republican senators broke ranks to support the resolution alongside Democrats.
