TEHRAN WARNS OF 'CONSEQUENCES' AS IRAN ACCUSES US OF BREACHING CEASEFIRE BY FAILING TO RESTRAIN ISRAEL IN LEBANON

Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has accused the United States of breaching its ceasefire with Tehran by failing to restrain Israel from escalating attacks in Lebanon, with Tehran threatening consequences.

The warning comes as Israeli forces have captured the strategic Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered strikes on Beirut for the first time since a ceasefire was agreed in April.
