STARMER EXPECTED TO RESIGN AS EARLY AS MONDAY AS LABOUR CRISIS DEEPENS

The Observer newspaper is reporting that British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer could announce his resignation as early as Monday, though Number 10 Downing Street says he remains focused on governing.

More than a hundred Labour lawmakers have publicly called on the prime minister to step aside, with Andy Burnham — who returned to Parliament after winning a by-election on Wednesday — widely seen as the frontrunner to replace him.
