RUBIO SAYS ISRAEL-LEBANON TALKS NEAR 'COMMITMENT OF INTENT' BUT BOTH SIDES DENY ANY IDF WITHDRAWAL

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned that allowing any country to impose fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz could create chaos across global shipping lanes, as tensions over the key waterway escalate.

The warning came during a visit to Bahrain, where Rubio met Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss the conflict with Iran.

Oman's top diplomat has separately declared that no transit fees will be imposed in the strait, though Tehran has pushed back against any alternative shipping arrangements.
