ISRAEL AND LEBANON AGREE DEAL, AS US/IRAN NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to renew their ceasefire, according to a joint statement issued by the US.

The deal is dependent on a complete halt to Iran-backed Hezbollah's attacks, and would create pilot security zones inside Lebanon from which Hezbollah operatives would be banned.

Israeli ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter says it's a positive step.
