FRANCE BREAKS ALL-TIME HEAT RECORD FOR SECOND DAY RUNNING AS DROWNING TOLL REACHES 48

France continues to swelter under record-breaking temperatures leading French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu to activate the country's highest public health emergency level to bolster hospital capacity.  

Forecasters say the most dangerous heat is now shifting eastward across the European continent.

Germany's national weather service has warned of severe heat hitting the entire country over the weekend, with red alerts also in place across Italy, Poland and the Balkans.
