BURNHAM ON COURSE TO BECOME BRITAIN'S NEXT PRIME MINISTER UNOPPOSED AS NOMINATIONS SET TO OPEN IN JULY

Andy Burnham is on course to become Britain's next prime minister — possibly without a contest — after securing the support of more than 200 Labour lawmakers, well above the threshold needed to get on the ballot.  Nominations are due to open on the ninth of July.

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer announced his resignation last Monday but remains in office until a successor is chosen.
