At least thirty-two people have been killed and seven hundred injured after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday, with the death toll expected to rise.
The US Geological Survey recorded a magnitude 7.2 quake followed just thirty-nine seconds later by a magnitude 7.5 tremor — the largest to hit the country in more than a century. Caracas's main international airport has been shut because of heavy damage.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences, while US President Donald Trump has said Washington stands ready to provide assistance.
