Russian President Vladimir Putin is going an official three-day visit to Kazakhstan. He will hold talks with the country’s leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and sign a cooperation agreement on nuclear energy.
Putin is also due to take part in the Eurasian Economic Union Council meeting in Astana later this week.
One of the EAEU member countries - Armenia - is skipping this year’s Summit, under pressure over its recent decision to pivot towards the West.
