European leaders are alarmed over the situation in Lebanon, and the impact on the fragile US-Iran truce.

On Thursday, France issued a strong statement condemning the "massive strikes carried out by Israel against Lebanon".

The Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez said Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “contempt for life and international law” was “intolerable".
