April 2026 set to be the second-warmest April on record for the ocean

Early estimates by the EU's top environmental observation centre suggest that April 2026 is on track to be the second-warmest April on record for the oceans.

The average sea temperature for this month is set to be 21.07 degrees Celsisus - after the April 2024 record of 21.1 degrees.
