US House takes up bill to end govt shutdown

The US House of Representatives is hoping to quickly end the partial
government shutdown as it prepares to discuss a Senate-passed measure.

Republicans need all their lawmakers to back the bill to prevent a
drawn-out fight involving funding for the President's immigration
crackdown.
