UK PM Under More Pressure As Greens Win By-Election

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under more pressure, after the Green Party won their first ever Westminster by-election.

Labour finished third behind both the Green's and Reform UK.

Hannah Spencer becomes the Green Party's fifth MP in Parliament, winning the Gorton and Denton seat near Manchester with a majority of four thousand four hundred and two. (4,402)

In her victory speech, the 34 year old former plumber promised to champion working people:

The vote was triggered by the resignation of former Labour MP Andrew Gwynne on health grounds.


The constituency had been considered a safe Labour seat.
