The UK government insists it is pressing on with its deal to hand sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.
That's despite a foreign office minister telling MPs on Wednesday that the process was being paused for talks with the U.S.
Last week, US President Donald Trump said the UK shouldn't give up control of the islands that host a joint military airbase at Diego Garcia.
But the government says the plans are not actually being paused - which shadow defence secretary James Cartlidge says is a mistake.
