London's Met Police Detail Vetting Failure

The Metropolitan police - has found more than 8-thousand officers were not properly vetted, over a period of 10 years up until 2023.


The review into vetting procedures was launched following the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard by firearms officer, Wayne Couzens in 2021.


Two sex offenders were among officers, who the force failed to effectively screen.


Stephen Roberts is the former head of the Met's 'Directorate of Professional Standards'. He says it's a failure for the profession:
