The French nationalist leader Marine Le Pen's appeal trial after she
was found guilty of embezzling European Union funds starts on Tuesday.
The French politician is fighting to salvage a possible presidential
bid in 2027 after she was barred from running for public office for
five years after a conviction in March last year.
She rejected the verdict and has vowed to clear her name.
