Fed Chair Powell says criminal investigation “consequence” of not kowtowing to Trump’s interest rate demands

The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell - linked to building renovations at the central bank's DC headquarters. Powell has hit back at the unprecedented move - saying it has nothing to do with the renovations - but is a threat because the Fed has refused to lower interest rates as aggressively as President Trump wants.
