17 dead in US winter storm

Millions of people across the US are digging out from a powerful
winter storm that has brought snow, ice and bitterly cold temperatures
all the way from Colorado, down to Texas and up through New England.

At least 17 people have died and hundreds of thousands remain without
power with temperatures expected to stay well below zero for days to
come.
