Tens of millions of Americans were under winter storm warnings on Monday — and Winter Storm Ezra is expected to impact the Great Lakes region, with predictions of 5-8 inches or 12 to 20 centimeters of snow for Minneapolis, Green Bay and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said he had authorized the National Guard to assist with storm operations.

The conditions are making life difficult for travellers during the holidays with US Today reporting that by 9:30 on Monday morning more than 490 flights were cancelled in the US, and 18,00 were delayed by at least 15 minutes.
