US flights cancelled or delayed by government shutdown

Thousands of US domestic flights have been cancelled or delayed after
the White House ordered a reduction of air traffic to account for the
ongoing government shutdown.

The country is experiencing a major shortage of air traffic
controllers - who are expected to turn up to work without pay.
