The French president Emmanuel Macron has tasked the outgoing prime minister Sebastien Lecornu with trying to reach a compromise over the composition of his government - after originally accepting Lecornu's resignation on Monday.
Lecornu has two days to try to form a government that can pass a budget. If he fails, Emmanuel Macron will likely have to call snap elections.
