UK Government Seeks Digital ID Card To Fight Illegal Immigration

The UK Government wants to introduce compulsory digital ID cards to try and tackle illegal immigration.


Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer admitted that Labour has 'shied away' from addressing concerns over immigration in the past.


He says plans for a new digital ID that will be stored on people's phones will be an "enormous opportunity" for the UK and make it tougher to work illegally.


Opposition parties have dismissed the idea of the so called 'Brit Card' as a 'gimmick' but Labour MP Jo White says it's a good idea…
