STARMER UNDER PRESSURE OVER MANDELSON

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer continues to face questions about why he appointed a US ambassador with known links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The sacking of Peter Mandelson on Thursday as the UK's envoy to Washington is threatening to overshadow Donald Trump's State Visit to Britain next week.

The government says Mandelson was removed after new information came to light about his relationship with Epstein after his first conviction.

Jim Pickard of the Financial Times says Keir Starmer's initial backing of Mandelson this week, and sacking him hours later, doesn't make sense.
