Russia's President Vladimir Putin attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in China expressed his support to Chinese leader Xi Jinping's initiative pushing for a "more fair and reasonable" global governance system. On the sidelines of the SCO meeting Putin is also holding talks with leaders of India, Turkey and Iran. Putin praised China, India and Turkey for mediation in the Ukraine crisis and said that his earlier Summit in Alaska with US President Donald Trump opens way to peace in Ukraine.
