President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet later today in Alaska, for a summit aimed at determining whether there is any prospect of a ceasefire and peace negotiation over Ukraine.
The US leader says he is "convinced" that President Putin is interested in finding a solution to the conflict.
But he again said he does not think Friday's talks will secure Russian support for an immediate truce.
