Overall inflation steady in July, but closely watched ‘core’ inflation accelerates as tariffs bite

Overall inflation in the US was steady in July, but the closely watched 'core inflation' accelerated at its fastest pace this year.  Prices rose 2.7% last month from a year ago - broadly in line with expectations. Toni Waterman has more.
