Dalai Lama confirms he will have successor, as hundreds gather to celebrate birthday

Hundreds of people have gathered in north India to celebrate the Dalai Lama's 90^th birthday on Sunday.

The Tibetan spiritual leader has confirmed that he will have a successor, amid some earlier speculation that the institution could end with him.
