Vodafone Idea seeks India's Supreme Court's help to get waiver on $5bn owed to government

Vodafone's India joint venture telecom operator has gone to India's top court to challenge the government's rejection of its request to waive more than $5 billion it owes in interest and penalties on dues.

News agency Reuters reports that documents show that the Indian company says that the waiver could be crucial to its survival.
