Tech billionaire Elon Musk says that US President Trump has agreed to shut down the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which funds billions of dollars’ worth of global aid.
The world’s richest man has been tasked with overhauling the US federal government.
USAID’s headquarters were closed for the day on Monday, with employees told to stay home.
