European Union officials have pledged to scale up defense production
and spending to bolster the military capabilities of both Ukraine and
Europe at large.
The comments come following a meeting between the European Commission
President and the U.S. envoy to Ukraine.
Tuesday's meeting between Russian and U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia
has sparked concerns in Brussels that a peace plan could be reached
without European input.
